Justifying the Circles Under My Eyes

Breastfed babies have longer sleep cycles than formula-fed babies, but they are also more easily awakened. Research suggests that this is why breastfed babies are less likely to die from SIDS.

So, when Carmen and David wake up with a silly smile and want to talk at 4am, are there benefits to that, too?

Maybe not important medical ones. But there's something sweet to now and again hearing Carmen babble and giggle in the morning's wee hours, or feeling David's toasty little body wiggle as the two of you settle into the rocking chair to catch a few more winks before sunup.

Carmen slept from 8:30p to 6:00a last night.
